Even the most comprehensive program will not be effective without good instructors,
and KTR has invested significant effort in selecting the highest quality instructors.
The
instructors have been selected for their knowledge of the material and their ability
to present the material in an understandable and logical manner.
CHIEF JOSEPH ROGERS
is a 27 year veteran of the NJ Department of Corrections and
has held the rank of Chief for 10 years. He is currently assigned to the
Garden State Correctional Facility. Chief Rogers holds an Associates
degree in Criminal Justice from Union College, a Bachelor of Arts degree
in Public Administration from Kean College, and a Masters Degree in
Public Administration from Rutgers University. He is a State of New
Jersey Certified Public Manager and instructs at the NJ Department of
Corrections Training Academy on Management and Supervisory Development.
CAPTAIN ROBERT G. SABATTIS
has held supervisory assignments in patrol, investigations, narcotics, and training with
the Union Township Police Department, and is currently the Patrol Bureau Commander there.
He is a graduate of Seton Hall University School of Law and has successfully represented
police promotion candidates in the exam appeal process. Captain Sabattis is a product of
New Jersey's merit examination system, having attained the rank of #1 on every NJ Department
of Personnel promotion test he has taken. Captain Sabattis is the lead instructor for the
KTR Legal Review and teaches in the KTR Management, Supervision & Leadership module.
